EPD Insulation Group has a charitable ethic that runs right through the business, especially where youth and sports are concerned.
EPD supplies insulation, screed, drylining, and building materials to many businesses throughout the Anglia region and now they have a Marketing Director from Suffolk, they have even more ties locally.
Hadleigh Rugby Club had a devastating fire just before the 2020 lockdown which decimated their facilities, leaving only the clubhouse standing. All the changing rooms, showers, and outside portacabins full of training equipment, flags, and post protectors were lost including their two playing kits.
It was a true make-or-break moment for the club but, as usual with Hadleigh RFC, teamwork came to the fore, they pulled together and started work re-building.
The interim years have been extremely difficult for HRFC as senior players drifted off to other clubs or retired from the game completely and the youth section had to survive on limited resources. But due to a core of dedicated members led by Chairman Charlie Warburton and Coach Shawn J Van Rensburg, HRFC are once again fighting back and stabilising the senior team in Eastern Counties Div 1.
The difficulties weren’t just kit and facilities but financial too and it has been arduous trying to secure funding, although insurance and a generous go-fund-me page gave some respite.
And this is where businesses like EPD Insulation Group have helped. Not only have they supplied the hard wood for replacing the rotten clubhouse veranda FOC, but they are now one of the new kit sponsors too.
Neil Farrow, Marketing Director at EPD Insulation Group said “With a foot in both camps, I knew the difference it would make to the club and I was happy that our MD Steve Boon saw the same picture. Hadleigh RFC have a massive heart even though they are a small club. Two of my own children have been through their fantastic youth system so I know first-hand what great work they do.”
