At EPD Insulation Group, we are thrilled to sponsor the Whittlesey Blues U16s, a team that has been playing together since they were just six years old! Over the years, they have developed an incredible bond, displaying true team spirit, dedication, and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch. Their journey is a testament to the power of grassroots football in fostering talent, discipline, and camaraderie.
We were delighted to welcome the team to EPD, where they met with our Financial Director, Lloyd Frith-Robinson. The photo captured during their visit includes Lloyd alongside some of the talented players and their committed coaches, Richard, Steve, and Clare.
The Impact of Whittlesey Blues FC on the Community
Whittlesey Blues FC is a fantastic grassroots football club that plays a vital role in the local community, offering young players the opportunity to develop their skills, confidence, and teamwork. The club thrives on the dedication and passion of its coaches, volunteers, and supporters, all of whom create a positive and encouraging environment for the players to grow and excel.
The U16s squad—comprising talented players, (few of the players as pictured), Elliot, Mitchell, Jacob, Ben, Courtney, Charlie, Jay, and Marcus—has continuously demonstrated determination and a drive for success. Their teamwork and resilience have helped them achieve great milestones, making them a formidable force in local football.
A Season of Success
One of the team’s proudest moments came in 2022 when they reached the final of the prestigious Hereward Cup, a testament to their hard work and commitment. This season, they have started with a bang, winning all five of their matches so far! Scoring an impressive 32 goals and conceding just 9, the team has shown incredible attacking prowess and solid defensive discipline.
A huge shoutout to their three dedicated coaches, Richard, Steve, and Clare, who have been with the team from the very beginning. Their guidance, mentorship, and passion for the game have been instrumental in the team’s success and development.
