The lockdown has been responsible for a lot of heartache and upheaval for many but for some it has been the source of inspiration.

Josh Warren has been a budding mechanic since he was a teenager, learning all about bikes from his father and friends. Josh’s father Rob has always been associated with the Speedway track and many riders and mechanics have stayed at their family home over the years which influenced the way Josh was heading.

With Moto Cross as his main boyhood hobby and Speedway as a family way of life, Josh was destined to follow only one path.

Having practiced intently he started his Speedway journey in 2019 just before lockdown from which his first club Kent Kings suffered a hammer blow and had to fold.

In the meantime, Josh was spotted by a Mildenhall scout and taken to the developing Mildenhall Fen Tigers reserves.

“Speedway isn’t a path to make big money, it’s purely driven by the heart.” Said Josh.

He has to supplement his income with his mechanical knowledge for other riders like Danny King of Poole Pirates and Ipswich Witches.

That said, he is constantly striving for more success with his team scoring points wherever he can.

Josh continued “It’s really difficult to make ends meet as a junior rider so the sponsorship from EPD Insulation Group helps me focus on being the best rider I can be.”

EPD Insulation are happy to oblige.
